I am a professor I in the Department of Social Science at Palm Beach State College. Currently, I teach Introduction to Sociology, Sociology of Marriage & Family, and American Social Problems.
Before beginning at Palm Beach State College, I completed my doctorate in sociology at Duke University with an emphasis in medical sociology and demography. In addition to my research as a graduate student, I had the opportunity to teach multiples courses at Durham Tech Community College and Duke. Furthermore, I also completed the Certificate of College Teaching and the Certificate of Accomplishment in Teaching Writing in the Disciplines offered by the graduate school. I was also a 2019-2020 fellow in the Preparing Future Faculty program. Before beginning my doctoral studies at Duke, I earned a bachelor's of arts in French studies and a master's of science in sociology from Brigham Young University.
